Gorillaz Debut 'Momentary Bliss' From New 'Song Machine' Series

The latest project from the animated rock stars

January 30, 2020

Our favorite animated friends are back with new music, serving it up one episode at a time. Gorillaz returned on Thursday with the first episode of Song Machine, documenting a new collaboration with slowthai and Slaves. Each episode will explore a new collaboration with Damon Albarn and company, showcasing the song and featuring a conversation between the artists and their cartoon counterparts.

You can expect new music and new episodes released basically, when they feel like it. One full season of Song Machine, however has already been plotted out by the band with more on the way soon.

“Song Machine is a whole new way of doing what we do. Gorillaz breaking the mold ‘cos the mold got old,” the band shared in a statement. “World is moving faster than a supercharged particle, so we’ve gotta stay ready to drop. We don’t even know who’s stepping through the studio next. Song Machine feeds on the unknown, runs on pure chaos. So whatever the hell’s coming, we’re primed and ready to produce like there’s no tomorrow.”

Gorillaz released their last album, The Now Now, in 2018. You can watch a performance from the lead song, "Humility," below.
